Abstract
We will be presenting on Argentina’s dictatorship during the 1970s and 1980s, known as the “Dirty War”. While we will cover the history of the dictatorship, such as how it came to power and the atrocities that were committed during its reign, we will focus mainly on how the people of Argentina (and Buenos Aires in particular) have dealt with their country's dark past and the extent to which its culture, current political climate and economy continue to be affected by the events of the past.
