Description
Henry S. Gunckel is serving as a member of the Ohio State House of Representatives (from Montgomery County) at the time this letter is written. He describes in great detail the Whig Convention of November 22, 1844, at which Mordecai Bartley was nominated as candidate for governor of Ohio.
