McLean has just received news that his wife is very ill, and he plans to leave for Washington immediately. He writes at length about the case of Dr. Early and the fact that, due to his actions, he, McLean, has no confidence in Early but is willing to hear what he has to say. John Baldwin went to Kansas sometime in 1857. The Palmgea Town Association formed to build a town subsequently named this town near Kansas City, Baldwin. Milton Baldwin, John's son, came to Baldwin in 1858 to take charge of the Preparatory Department of the newly formed Methodist connected Baker University. Just 13 years after the founding of Baldwin Institute??? In 1886 another John Baldwin (B.W.1886??) went to this western institution to start his teaching career, thus furthering the Baldwin Connection. Philura Gould (BW 1886) married John Baldwin and there is on the campus of Baldwin-Wallace ????? Abstract Number - 1005
