Description
Harriet thanks Finley profusely for a letter which relieved her very much. The letter is undated, but is most likely from 1822 because it is written from Lebanon, mentions, "Dr. E." and is dated September 12th. It is possible that Finley's letter concerned Dr. Charles Elliott, missionary at the Wyandot Mission, telling of the upcoming marriage of Elliott and Phebe Leech on September 14, 1822. Perhaps Harriet had a romantic interest in Dr. E. She reports that she has sent a "shabby letter to Dr. E." None of this has as yet been documented. Abstract Number - 523
