M.D. Brooke thanks Finley profusely for his letter. He reports the sale of his mill and the purchase of property -- a house and spring. He asks Finley's cooperation in getting a certain man for the circuit where he (Brooke) will be stationed next year. He mentions that some of the young men in the class have not done so well.
