James acknowledges his receipt of the Circular which Rev. Swormstedt sent him to sign several weeks ago. He is returning it without his signature and without his approval. James gives five reasons why he objects to the Circular. First, it will cause a division in the Church. Second, because of the trouble in the South at the present time. Third, because the Commissioners do not have the authority to issue such a Circular. Fourth, because it will cause a serious conflict at the General Conference. Fifth, because it is wholly unnecessary. Abstract Number - 805
