Poe writes in defense of the character of the unfortunate Robert M. Bowland, guilty of the homicide of his brother-in-law, and is soon to be sent to the Penitentiary. He has accepted religion since being in jail. It is hoped he will be placed in a position in the jail which will not aggravate his ill-health. Abstract Number - 1060
